Some tips for homes with ‘bad circulation’

Donald Paterson lives in a detached house. The house has had a substantial 2-storey extension added to the back of the property, but the internal spaces are badly arranged. Due to the size of the rear extension the house now has a very deep plan from front to back, which means the spaces in the centre of the plan, the family room and the utility room are dark and dingy. One of the main problems with this plan is that to get from the hallway into the kitchen means …

Halfway through a fantastic Ideal Home Show

So we are just over halfway through this years Ideal Home Show at Earls Court.
2011 has been a great year for the event and we have already built on the award winning success of the 2010 show.
The Ideal Home Village has been incredibly popular with the Open Plan Living House, The Prince’s Natural House and my very own Coronation Street Eco Refit Project.
The visit by the Prince of Wales last Thursday was a highlight for everyone involved and created such a buzz gor the event. It was an honour to …

Don’t miss the transformed Ideal Home Show starting this week

This Friday 11th March sees the launch of the 103rd Ideal Home Show at Earl’s Court, London.

It was a pleasure to find how many people across the world watch The Home Show and Restoration Man! I was stopped by people from as far as China, New Zealand, Canada and of course many Indian fans of the show.
I can’t wait to get back into all of the exciting projects …

As we move into Spring we are entering into the busiest time of year for DIY. A bit of Spring cleaning soon leads into us thinking about what we can do to our homes to make the even better for the …
