George’s rallying cry for Georges…and Georginas

George is hoping to be part of a World Record as organisers of the 7th Annual Lytham St Annes St George’s Day Festival are calling for all Georges and Georginas to put themselves forward to take part in their parade to celebrate their namesake.

The parade, which starts and finishes at Lowther Gardens, takes place on Saturday, April 25, and is part of a five-day festival extravaganza to get people in the region celebrating all things English.

Anyone with a first or last name of George, or Georgina needs to bring their passport with them and register at Lowther Gardens at 10am before the parade through the centre of Lytham starts at 11am.

Everyone taking part will receive a T-shirt saying ‘I am George’.
