Basement conversions
Going down?
One of the main reasons for choosing a basement conversion is the lack of suitable living space, balanced against the costs associated with moving to a larger property. Many people cite wanting to stay in the area where they live. With advances in engineering, modern waterproofing techniques and imaginative design options, a new basement can open up lots of exciting possibilities.
With its team of experts, London Basement can construct below practically any house, and there is usually no need to move out during the works, and with modern construction methods there’s no need for an existing cellar either.
Excavating the ground under the house offers a flexible space with all the aesthetics you could wish for like natural light and high ceilings, and an added level or two provides you with many options to achieve better space planning throughout the whole house.
And you are not restricted to just below the house, you can also continue your basement beyond the house and under your patio or garden, or should you live in a Grade 1 Listed property we can construct a basement below your garden.
The London Basement Company provides a complete service and will take care of all the planning permissions and regulations, leaving you time to carry on with your life uninterrupted.
Their skilled craftsmen are experienced in all types of refurbishment work and so can help you complete the look you want right through your property, finished to the same high quality standard to provide a seamless, beautiful look throughout.
The way we live today means we often choose that rooms have a variety of functions and the trend for open plan living is perfectly in keeping with how you can use a basement space.
Functions can flow from one area to another with a space to relax and to watch your favourite film, alongside an area to eat and entertain.

Dear George,
Really like your web site and I think that you are doing a great job promoting the value of good design however your promotion of a particular builder, the London Basement Company, is a bit strange considering that you are an architect and as such should have no conflict of interest when you serve your clients.
My firm has used the London Basement Company before and, blimey, without going into detail we will never use them again.
